last drawing for today. trying some harder crosshatching. the portrait is loosely inspired by a girl at another table in the restaurant - traits and shading.

Beautiful as always. There's something a little unnatural about the way the right hand is twisted, so if you do anything further with this sketch you might want to take a closer look at that. I love your work, so I'm sorry if I'm being nitpicky.

it's ok actually :) the story behind the right hand is simple - I didn't know where I was going with the sketch and at some point I wanted to draw the hand as caressing the head of the animal - but with the palm
then as I didn't have enough place and the animal's head was too big I drew it reversed as if she is touching the animal with the back of her hand. so it's not necessarily unnatural but you're interpreting it differently - anyway if I redo this it will probably be different - or maybe add a shadow on the head to show the relative spatial position of the two objects :)
