Hey, NegativeFeedback Sir, what medium did you use for the Tau people? I'm not good at this, but the colors have the flow of a watercolor rendering but the neatness of a digital work. Enlighten me. Thanks.
By the way, the simplicity of your works, and as consequence, the emotions these evoke... You're great.
thank you - it's basically ball-pen for the outline and then red brush in photoshop - the simple hard brush on a multiply layer occasionally I use a soft eraser to create a gradient where the subject fades (feet of Tau, and base of Tau Zero - the other two red Tau's)
Ah, thanks for sharing that. As far as I understand this method of yours, first you scan your hand drawn outlines, and then you color in photoshop. Basically that's it, right? I observed that the outlines that you make are very prominent. But how do you color in such a way that the black outlines are not covered by the paint in photoshop? I have a trick to do this, but it does not produce the same quality as your method. If it is a secret of yours, I would understand if you do not want to answer the question. You have been of great help in any case. Thanks NegativeFeedback Sir.
yeah that's what I do and for filling you can either zoom in and use a precise brush or select with the magic wand - if it's a closed shape or try to close it first - then fill the selection hope this helps
I looked at your works one more time, and this maybe a stretch but your color layer is above the outline layer? Or it depends on the artwork? I always color below the outline layer. Thanks for your responses. I appreciate all of them.
