Artist's Comments

I changed the title from "Lost within..." to the original version because I wanted to depict a special being that has taken a rational decision to focus inward. Not because of its inability to communicate, not because of social rejection... But because it wanted a different path. It wanted to say: "I was a leaf that fell from a tree... I died... and now I'm no longer a leaf. I was reborn something completely different. Something that never existed before. This is what I've become. This is my mindscape."
This being is not lost... It is exactly where it wanted to be.

First of all thank you to ¢elusive and ^oilsoaked for this DD
I won't be able to reply to all directly so I'm going to say thank you for all the favs and comments
if you have something really important to ask of me, do it by note because it's a little hard to keep track of all the messages

Ok so I think some clarification is needed. I received some comments that I am copying another artist - namely Rabarama (google it and you will find some sculptures of persons with labyrinths on them).
As it usually happens when you have a cool idea you might not be the first to have thought of that. It's today that I found out about Rabarama and my works are inspired from something else.
This idea came to me after doing some of my "mindscape" works which are basically continuous fully connected labyrinths that extend either on an infinite surface or on any 3d object (I wrote a program that generates such labyrinths on any 3d object - been working on a film with an infinite labyrinthine world). From this I always extend my ideas in all directions - so all of a sudden some of my old drawings sculptures photos get a remake with a labyrinth on them.

Fell free to check the mindscape series:

I wouldn't be surprised either if Rabarama wasn't the first to have thought of drawing a labyrinth on a body.
You might find that even in ancient cultures in ornamental body painting etc.
And as someone pointed out you should try to see in each art that contains the same symbol, the different meanings given to it by the different artists or maybe the different representations of the same meaning.

Perhaps is was the intensive linework, or maybe it was just the composition. Whatever it was, Lost within... by *NegativeFeedback struck me as so amazing and expressive, I really couldn't wait to show everyone. (Suggested by `elusive and Featured by ^oilsoaked)
