The wanderer is an introverted creature, continuously meditating, dreaming, wandering inside its mind... the wings are there to symbolize the freedom from everything. Nothing can touch it or make it lose its focus... unless it chooses to. It is the creator of ideas in any form possible.

It was once told in Symmyrnea... That whoever would talk to pine barks in the forest, write the mystery on the sea with ancient woods and take those faces to the isolated rocks on an island, would find the road to OEGGEM. And...(the end is the beginning)
thats very nice.. were i to see it in a store (and the price was right) i certainly pick it up

Well I just put it in the Print section... I was uploading the large image while you were writing your message, but the message got here first. The price is just the default price on dA.
The wings and the darkness are quite powerful ^_^

Wow, what a mysterious piece. Very subtle, low chroma lighting. I like how the subject is completely face-less.
Love how this "creature" is faceless and genderless.... also, the wings are stiff and seem to me to symbolize inertness... the wanderer is free to take off anywhere but chooses to remain physically grounded in order to be spiritually free... the way monks can speak to communicate within the world but take a vow of silence in order to commune with the divine... a truly beautiful and evocative piece, congrats on the DD :+favlove:
Well, sorry, the original is not for sale... and I haven't yet made a copy. But I was thinking of making a larger (and slightly different) version. Anyway, if I ever run out of food in my fridge I'll contact you.
i didnt figure that it would be :) regardless its still looks like a great piece. :)

What a gloomy, expressive and powerful sculpture! I really love it, and I also like your description of him...it fits perfectly.
Wonderful work. :+favlove:
