CLAVICULA

This year I started working on Clavicula, a 3D modeling app for desktop and VR. It is the next step in developing the creative environment I envisioned back when I started Neobarok. I have already released two versions and started tutorials. I am now preparing the 1.0.0 release with VR modeling capabilities as well as other cool features that you can already see in my gallery. Meanwhile I will continue posting my art and ideas here as well as on my facebook and instagram pages.

Neobarok 2.0

I have released Neobarok 2.0.d

... for Windows, Linux and OSX. Let me know if you have issues launching it.

Free to download and use: neobarok.com


On Linux you can now use the AppImage and on OSX there were some fixes for the UI and libraries.

You can check the release history for more information.


The new version uses OpenGL 3.3, has a more comprehensive UI (Panel, visual hints), working undo-redo, and many improvements under the hood (most notably the n-gon mesh vs. the old triangle mesh), GPU sculpting with undo, new HDR rendering... and many more that aren't yet activate.


Tutorials and the new guide are in progress.

  • SECOND TUTORIAL IS UP !
  • CLAY fully integrated in the sculpting pipeline (Save enabled), switch freely between general Mesh (slower) and Clay (fast, >1Mpoint).
  • FIRST TUTORIAL IS UP !
  • GIF animations are played at their preset speed
  • OBJ export: whole scene (File>Save), selected tool (Assembly>Quick Save)
  • add your own materials (copy image files in Neobarok/Textures/ and edit the text file materials.m)
  • high resolution render (Render>Hi-res)
  • perspective render with no interaction (Render>Perspective)
  • improved menus

Download Neobarok beta for Windows, unzip and run neobarok.exe.
If you encounter issues read the README.txt file provided in the package.

This is a prototype! Therefore some features are in development and currently disabled (notably FastClay, Undo/Redo, OBJ export), some are still unstable, the interface is functional but this is not its final, simplified form.

In a few days I will post some in-depth tutorials on using it and also answer your emails and messages !
